… “Predstava v Cankarjevem domu je pokazala vse možnosti, priložnosti, prednosti in pomanjkljivosti velikega odra, predvsem pa nekatere slabosti ali samovoljne poteze režiserja ter scenografije, poleg nihanja v interpretaciji svojih vlog tako tenorista kot sopranistke, tako da je najboljši pevec večera postal baritonist. Občinstvo je to očitno opazilo in samo Luko Brajnika nagradilo s kar bučnimi ovacijami, kar je za njega velik promocijski dosežek. Tu bi se seveda spomnili velikih italijanskih baritonistov, ki so ravno v vlogi Jaga videli svoj vrhunski domet. Luka Brajnik je na tej žlahtni, a hkrati zelo zahtevni karierni poti, lahko prepričljivo optimističen. Ima močno odrsko, igralsko prezenco, izjemen baritonski, dramski glas temne žametne barve, morda bi mu dodal še več mediteranskega izraznega temperamenta, tipa Piero Cappuccili ali Leo Nucci. Solistični nastop s Credo in un Dio crudel je na moč aktualen. ”
“The performance at Cankarjev dom revealed both the strengths and limitations of the grand stage – its possibilities and opportunities, but also the shortcomings of the director’s vision and scenographic choices. Added to this were the uneven interpretations of the tenor and soprano, so that, in the end, the evening belonged unmistakably to the baritone. The audience recognized this with clarity, honoring Luka Brajnik alone with thunderous ovations—an undeniable promotional triumph for the young singer. It inevitably calls to mind the great Italian baritones, who often found in the role of Iago the ultimate expression of their artistry. On this noble yet exacting path, Luka Brajnik has every reason for convincing optimism. He commands a strong stage and dramatic presence, his baritone darkly burnished and velvety in color. One might wish for a touch more Mediterranean fire in expression, in the manner of Piero Cappuccili or Leo Nucci, yet even without it he makes a striking impression. His rendition of Credo in un Dio crudel resonated with particular urgency and relevance – a timeless monologue whose force speaks powerfully to our present moment. ”…
